Creating a contact person in Windows client

You can create a contact person to a person or to a business partner role. The contact person created to the business partner role is automatically linked with the based person of the business partner.

Please check if the based person to the contact person already exists.

Creating a new contact with a new based person

The following explains how to create a new contact person to a business partner. There is no based person to the contact person yet.

Generally, you will first open a business partner and create a new contact person to it.

  1. Open the main window


    Business partner.

  2. Open the search with a click on


    Open search if it does not open automatically when you open the main window.

  3. Enter the search criteria for the desired business partner and click


    Search.

  4. If the result list is too long, limit it by using the column filter. Mark the requested business partner and click


    Apply.

  5. In the context menu to the business partner (tree), select the function Create new and assign/has contact person.

  6. Enter as many information into the text fields to the contact person as possible (especially the mandatory fields).

  7. Save the new dataset by clicking


    Save.

  8. If the Address of the contact (tree) differs from the business partners address, replace the existing address by a new one.

  9. If required, assign other datasets to the contact.

Creating a new contact with an existing based person

The following explains how to create a new contact person to a business partner. A based person to the new contact already exists. Therefore, you first open this person, then you create the contact person role to it.

  1. Open the main window


    Person.

  2. Open the search with a click on


    Open search
    if it does not open automatically when you open the main window.

  3. Enter the desired search criteria to the person and click


    Search

  4. If the result list is too long, limit it by using the column filter. Mark the desired person and click


    Apply

  5. In the context menu to the person (tree), select the function Create new and assign/is contact person to.

  6. At first, assign the business partner to the new contact person. To do so, enter the search criteria for the business partner and click


    Search.

  7. If the result list is too long, limit it by using the column filter. Mark the requested business partner and click


    Apply.

  8. Enter as many information into the text fields to the contact person as possible (especially the mandatory fields).

    Hinweis

    The data of phone and fax, as well as e-mail and website fields were adopted by the business partner.

  9. Save the contact person by clicking


    Save.

  10. If the Address of the contact (tree) differs from the business partners address, replace the existing address by a new one.

  11. If required, assign other datasets to the contact.
