Menus and symbols

Basics

Use menus and symbol bars to give commands to CURSOR-CRM.

A menu shows a list of commands. Most menus are located on the menu bar underneath the title bar of CURSOR-CRM. Additional menus are located in some main windows, in search windows and various other windows. Right beside some commands there are pictures, to easily associate the picture to the command.

A Context menu is reached through a right click on an element (e.g. windows, nodes in trees). The commands in the context menu relate to the element to which they were opened.

A symbol bar can contain buttons with pictures or a combination of button and menu. You trigger commands with the buttons just like you do through the menu bars.

Using menus

Menu items can have sub menus. This is indicated by a triangle to the right of the menu point. The sub menus are displayed when you mark the menu item.

Behind several menu items, there are key combinations, with which you can run that certain command directly through the keyboard. The menus can also be controlled by the keyboard. One letter of the menu title resp. the command is always underlined. To open a menu, press the underlined letter next to the button ALT. To select a command from that opened menu, press the underlined letter (without the button ALT). Navigate from menu to menu resp. from menu item to menu item by using the arrow keys.

Using buttons

The commands in the symbol bar of the CURSOR-CRM window relate to the main area of the main window. They do not apply to the sub area of the main window. Otherwise, symbol bars always apply to the window in which they appear.

Buttons with the triangle symbol facing downwards have a menu containing further commands. Clicking on the symbol opens that menu.

When a button has no function in a certain situation (like the Save button when no datasets are loaded), it is displayed in grey (including the text). The button is then inactive.

Menu Reports

The menu item Reports now allows user-specific view of the structure of Excel templates and reports.

All Excel templates across the entire menu contain the Excel icon.

There are two variants of Excel templates:

  • generally available (executable at any point in the application)

  • entity-specific (a dataset of this entity must be opened)

If an Excel entry in the menu is not active, you probably have not opened a dataset for the entity specific Excel template.

All report entries get the icon of the file-type they create:

  • Reports

  • PDF-documents

Tip

You can easily deposit reports from the menu into myCRM through drag & drop.

External invocations

With the symbol External invocations you can invoke an external application directly from your CRM. As prerequisite the application must be installed on your computer. The menu list is configured by the administrator.
