Customize sub area list

Which information is displayed in a sub area list can be adapted to the needs of the user. The so-called column configuration includes:

  • Visibility of the displayed columns

  • Order of the displayed columns

  • Sorting the results

  • Width of the respective columns

The column configuration in the sub area can be specified system-wide and customized by the user. Adjustments to the system standard must be carried out by administrators or users with the appropriate rights.

The display and hiding of columns in the sub area list can be customized via the configuration menu. This is located at the top right in the toolbar of the sub area list. The order of the visible columns as well as the sorting and width can be set directly in the search results list. To do this, columns can be customized by clicking, dragging and moving the column header.

Configuration of the sub area list

If the user has not yet made any adjustments to the above settings, the system settings are always loaded when the sub area list is called up. As soon as the user changes the settings, these are implicitly adopted as user settings and are displayed the next time the sub area is called up.

There are basically three configuration options in sub area lists:

  • View for this sub area (system-wide) - administrators only

  • View for sub areas (system-wide) - administrators only

  • Customized configuration

Configuration settings for sub area lists for administrators

View for this sub area

The "View for this sub area" actions relate exclusively to the configuration of this one specific sub area in the area that is currently visible (e.g. activities in the business partner).

All activities related to the business partner are listed on the tab of the same name in the business partner sub area. All activities relating to the contact person or a quote can also be found on the relevant tab. If the column configuration of the activities in the sub area of the business partner is adjusted and "Save view for this sub area as default" is selected, this configuration does not affect the activities sub area in the contact person and quote.

Several actions can be carried out for this sub area in the "Advanced configuration settings":

Action

Description

Save view for this sub area as default ADMIN RIGHTS

The current view is saved as the default for this sub area. Other users who open this area will see the defined view (if no user configuration exists).

Reset view for this sub area ADMIN RIGHTS

The view that was saved for this area is reset to the general standard of the sub areas.

Reset all user views for this sub area ADMIN RIGHTS

Any individual column configurations for this sub area are reset to the sub area default.

All actions that are not available in the current system with the assigned rights are hidden for the administrator or user.

View for sub areas

The "View for sub areas" actions relate to the configuration of the sub area in all areas with this link. This means that the configuration of the list is used system-wide for the current sub area (e.g. activities), regardless of the area (e.g. business partner or contact person) in which it is opened.

All activities related to the business partner are listed on the tab of the same name in the business partner sub area. For example, all activities for the contact person or quote can also be found on the relevant tab. If the column configuration of the activities in the sub area of the business partner is adjusted and "Save view for sub areas as default" is selected, this configuration also affects the activities sub area in the contact person and quote!

Several actions can be executed for sub areas in the "Advanced configuration settings":

Action

Description

Save view for sub areas as default ADMIN RIGHTS

The current view is saved as the cross-departmental standard for this link (e.g. for activities). Users who open an area that contains this sub area see the defined view (if no specific sub area or user configuration exists).

Reset view to factory settings ADMIN RIGHTS

The cross-area default view that was saved for sub areas of this link (e.g. activities) is reset to the factory settings (= delivery default).

Reset all user views for sub areas ADMIN RIGHTS

Any individual column configurations for sub areas of this link (e.g. activities) are reset to the sub area default.

This action is overwritten by the configuration "Save view for sub areas as default" for this specific sub area.

User-specific configuration of a sub area list

In addition to the system-wide configurations mentioned above, a user can customize a sub area list to suit their needs. This configuration is not saved explicitly and takes effect as soon as the user has made the adjustment.
